Bawls Buzz - copywriting as you wouldn’t see it

Bawls Buzz copywriting

Bawls Buzz copywriting

Once in a while, you come across a product that makes humorous use of copywriting. There’s no objective behind it, no marketing or sales tactic. Just something to lighten up your day.

Bawls Buzz does it with its copywriting on the bottom of its packing box — probably the last place you’d expect to see any creative work.

What other humorous copywriting have you come across?

Balasingam-Chow Yu HuiThis entry was written by Balasingam-Chow Yu Hui. He has worked as a Marketing Analyst at XM Asia Pacific since 2006.

You may remember him as author of “What is Web Analytics?” or from within the Singaporean social media circles. When he’s not working on Web Analytics, he can be found analysing how to improve his performance at Mario Kart Wii.

Singapore has taken pole position

Nope, I am not talking about the F1 race but the 2009 Waseda University International e-Government Ranking.

Waseda University Institute of e-Government has been monitoring the development of e-Government worldwide. Singapore was ranked 2nd in 2007 and 2008, and 3rd in 2005 and 2006. The US always comes out top, but this year Singapore with a weighted score of 92.89 took the top spot. This is the first time an Asian country has taken the lead in the study.

With the launching of Next Generation Network, it will further boost the country infocomm development.

A repository of content from different countries and cultures around the world. The main objective of the site is to promote internal and intercultural understand, and also to increase the curiosity of the world we live in about the cultural achievements in humanity.

You can browse by place, time, type of time or the contributing institution through the visual map interface. Interactive elements like the  geographical clusters  and timeline makes it a lot more interesting. Last check yielded 3 items for Singapore - photographs of a coffee plantation, rattan and wealthy Malays - interestingly weird.

Small is BIG

Early morning staff meeting

Mr. P setting an example, literally.

Getting up to date on the agency’s on goings, learning the difference between methods and processes, and getting introduced to “small Is BIG”. Also, figuring out how to balance a open face tuna sandwich while attempting to look attentive.

Battling the recession

Allot of these old WWII posters have been parodied of late - how we overcome or deal the adversity that is around us. The last one really strikes a chord, how can we look and seize the opportunities that are around us, instead of focusing on the negative.
